  • Condition: This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA MSFC AEROSPACE Engineer that was part of Wernher von Brauns Pioneer Rocket Team and later worked on the Shuttle's SSME starting in 1968 designing its Engines. Listing includes one Flown Flag (on Discovery STS-26 mission) with 11"x14" Certificate that is in Excellent condition in original frame with frame showing minor storage wear. Also included is a Post Launch Celebration Ticket from Marshall Space Flight (MSFC) in Very Good overall condition with some age and storage wear. Please see all Pictures...

    Description

    This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA MSFC Aerospace Engineer that was part of ABMA and NASA working with Wernher von Braun on the pioneering Rocket Team. Mr. Thomson was ultimately responsible for the development of the H1, J2 and F1 Rocket Engines and eventually put in charge of the Shuttle "SSME" development in 1968, Lastly from 1971-86 he served as Chief Engineer for the Space Shuttle Main Engine the RS-25. This listing is for a Space Shuttle Discovery STS-26 Flown Flag with the 11" x 14" COMMEMORATION "Return to Flight" certificate in Excellent condition still in original frame with frame showing minor storage/age wear. Also included is a POST LAUNCH CELEBRATION TICKET (6-5/8" x 3-1/8") In Honor of the CREW visit to Huntsville, Alabama (home of MSFC) on October 20, 1988.
