  • Condition: This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA MSFC AEROSPACE Engineer that was part of Wernher von Brauns Pioneer Rocket Team designing and testing the F1/H1/J2 Engines. He later worked on the Shuttle's SSME starting in 1968 designing its Engines and was named Chief Engineer in 1971 and is credited for the development and testing of the RS-25. Listing is for NASA SSME RS-25 Development presentations, photos and slides. All are in Very Good overall condition with some use and storage/age wear/aging (see pictures 3, 4 and 8 as examples) - Most pictures are Very Good . Photos have a variety of labels including some purple ink stamps/tagged backs/Kodaks also (see pictures 7-8). Note: Picture #5 is a transparency and not full report. Please see all Pictures...

    Description

    This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA MSFC Aerospace Engineer/Scientist that was part of ABMA and NASA working with Wernher von Braun on the Original pioneering Rocket Team. Mr. Thomson was ultimately responsible for the development of the H1, J2 and F1 Rocket Engines and eventually put in charge of the Shuttle "SSME" development in 1968, Lastly from 1971-86 he served as Chief Engineer for the Space Shuttle Main Engine the RS-25 (Credited with development and testing). This listing is for NASA 1976-1984 collection of presentations from the progression on development, Original Kodak NASA and Rocketdyne photos, transparency slides relating to SSME Development relating to the RS-25 Rocket Engine and all are i
    n Very Good overall condition for use and age with some storage wear/aging (see pictures 3, 4 and 8 as examples). Lots of photos with a variety of labels including purple ink stamps (see pictures 7-8) - Picture #5 is a transparency for the 0007 report used in presentation.
